garden

What I have at the moment is a Ghost Garden . Everywhere are the remains of now - abeyant plants , bits of radical , semitransparent leaves , sometimes just the grave mark , the works label .   Much as I ’d love to have a four season garden , I think it would be a compromise in the quad I have . I am contented to have the whole garden be good for three seasons , pretty much , then fleet off for a few months . It ’s a good opportunity to see the form of thing . I am looking at quite a big expanse of lawn and badly considering doing away with it to make the build of the border more pleasing . What ?   So I can fit in more plants ? How very dare you , a opprobrious accusation , such a thing never come to me . true guv .

permit ’s see what is going on , or not , as the subject may be .

Rear Garden

First the aerial shot , taken by Santa ’s reindeer as they pass overhead on Christmas Eve .   The lawn looks like it is badly in want of a Diamond State - thatch .   If you ’re interested , the number of lawn I am eye up is the duck’s egg ’s beak . I would roughly take the blood from the left field of the amalanchier forget me drug to the furthermost edge of the border , roughly grade with the laundry line . That would increase the available real land in one of the sunnier corners of the garden . Just a thought …

Patio Border – Freshly mulched just prior to being lose it here . I nice thick layer of rotted gymnastic horse manure will go on as much of the garden as I can .   I have soil structure in judgement . The cats will have fresh latrine in judgment .   I will before long imbed a caboodle of tall allium ‘ summer drummer ’ in here , to give some back of mete punch . They are presently brewing away in the greenhouse in 9 curium pot , doing very nicely .

Sunny Border – Quite the misnomer in recent months , but still , we last in hope .   Towards the end of January I will get in to the back of this perimeter and trim down back the clematis and straighten out the blush wine up .   I also really want to cut back that salvia hot back talk . I am moot moving it to a big pot on the patio . I most apprize the adorable pong that emanates from the leave-taking as you brush past and that does n’t encounter where it is now .

Wisteria Border , incorporating the Eye of Sauron .   Not much to speak of here , except to say that I must prune the wisteria , it badly needs a short back and side .

The Lilac Border – That dark-brown clematis ‘ rebecca ’ is begging to be prune back , and that perverse wisteria can be seen probing about here too .   The underplanting is all up for review once it intrude its head through again .   I keep chance footballs in the borders . It has been several year since the boy were small enough to play football game / destroy plant so where are they all coming from ? Perhaps they are longsighted resident .

The Shady Border – I have still only implant 1 of 3 ferns I have to go in here , I also have a bergenia waitress to go in the flat coat . The genus Cornus has been a big letdown this year , I cerebrate it might be clip for it to come out totally .

The Hibiscus Border – This moulding looks a lot good for having been mulch , but you ’ll have to take my word for it ! Alliums a - plenty will find their way into this snatch of ground over the next duet of months .   That big genus Geum could probably do with dividing , but that ordinarily results in the class sulking until the next class . I ’ll probably put it off .

Front Garden .

I complete the mulching .   I want to get some more bark for the path , the line of merchandise of which can be check clearly , unmulched as it is .

I ’m looking forth to stuffing yet more plants in here next twelvemonth .

That ’s yer lot for now . I ’ll be back in a month for another Border Patrol .
