Kale

Leeks
Leeks are a great fall and wintertime vegetable because they offer sapidity unlike many of the others ( although I ’ve yet to grow celery root which is cold-blooded sturdy ) . stale stalwart varieties include ‘ brigand ’ , ‘ Chinook ’ , ‘ Tadorna ’ although I ’ve had good portion with ‘ Bleu de Solaise ’ too pictured above was an overwintered leek .
Tatsoi
Tatsoi is a gorgeous rosette of greens , exchangeable to bok choi but if you give it space it will grow very large . Very inhuman stalwart !
Winter Lettuce
Surprised to see this tender green on the inclination ? It ’s all about the right variety ! ‘ Winter Density ’ has become my go to for winter lettuce , and I overwinter it too . Pictured above is a big overwintered head compare to the freshly sow seeded player in the spring . Other varieties let in ‘ Rouge D’hiver ’ and ‘ Merveille de Quatre Saisons ’ .
Parsnips
I love love love parsnips ! Roasted they taste amazing , although not everyone loves the sense of taste of them . We ’ve harvested them in the deep wintertime February month when the Baron Snow of Leicester thawed !
