After moving into a condo, this gardener is still at it
Today we ’re impose Anna McLeod ’s garden — which is perched on a ninth - floor balcony ! Never say you do n’t have the space to garden .
My husband and I give up our sign of the zodiac and move into a condominium so we could jaunt , but I could never give up my erotic love of plants and gardening ! So now I garden in the urban hobo camp in pots . So far I have four dissimilar Nipponese maples(Acer palmatum , Zones 5–9 ) , a plum tree(Prunussp . ) , a alcove tree(Laurus nobilis , Zones 8–10 ) , and many pots . We live in Vancouver , British Columbia , in Zone 7/8 . Our space confront the southwest , so it gets extremely hot on the 9th floor and can be very verbose . My husband instal a drip mould - line piss system on a timer , which makes spirit much easier . And since I ’m in a wheelchair , it ’s rugged to carry watering cans around . We will be sum more deal and more perennials , but this is our trivial garden oasis . Hope you enjoy the photograph !
A view of the patio , with pots overflow with plants . little trees like Japanese maple are nifty choices for container gardening , because they thrive in container but do n’t outgrow the space .

A comfortable judiciary for sitting and enjoy the garden and the view .
Hanging hoop are a great agency to bring more plant to a small garden by making use of the vertical space .
Just because you are garden on a patio or balcony does n’t mean you ca n’t grow food for thought ! Look for nanus fruit Tree ( this is a plum tree ) that wo n’t outgrow your space .

A Modern Japanese maple finalise in , ready to originate and make full in this garden .
Succulents are bully options for container and for sunny , tedious smear because they are tolerant of dry out out . If you put in an automatic watering arrangement , like Anna has , watering will be much less of a task , but be certain to check the stain sporadically to check that it is n’t stay too wet or too dry . Each plant postulate unlike amount , with succulents like these using a niggling , and magnanimous flora ask a lot more .
