Flowers, flowers, and more flowers!
Today we ’re visiting Francis ’s garden in Hartsdale , New York .
My loan-blend hardyhibiscus(Zones 5–9 ) is a cross I made with the potpourri ‘ Kopper King ’ . In front a phlox(Phloxpaniculata , Zones 4–8 ) blooms as well .
Ligularia‘Othello ’ ( Zones 3–8 ) has showy yellow flower , as seen here , but is notable for its dramatic black leave of absence .

‘ small Joe ’ ( Eutrochiumdubium‘Little Joe ’ , Zones 3–9 ) is a more compendious interlingual rendition ofJoe Pye weed , and the bountiful head of tiny flowers are very attractive tobutterfliesand otherpollinators .

InJuly , the phlox and hardy hibiscus showed off with colourful flower .

Butterfly weed(Asclepiustuberosus , Zones 5–9 ) is cover with brightorangeflowers . Behind it , a tall stand of crocosmia ( Crocosmia‘Lucifer ’ , Zones 5–9 ) adds intenseredflowers to the mixture .
Native to Africa , many varieties of crocosmia can be a minuscule tender , but the cultivar ‘ Lucifer ’ is the most cold hardy and vigorous .
