Losing Tools.
I lose hour of horticulture time a twelvemonth research for my garden tool . Back and forward to the shed I go for thing I ’ve forgotten . scour the flower bed and the garden cart for my trowel or secateurs demand years off my animation . It drives me crackers . I have had my favourite secateurs for about 20 geezerhood and always managed to find them eventually when they were mislaid – until now . Now they seem to have gone to their net resting place wherever that is . And I am in mourning . I ca n’t mention the make , you are not allow to advertise on a loose WordPress web log , but they were red and shiny and came with a lifetime ’s guarantee . But that ’s no adept if you misplace them .
I proceed to the hairdressers recently and sat there with body of water dripping down my neck opening whilst Sharon hunted for her coxcomb . She got all her girls hunting for it and all the customer shouting out utilitarian mesmerism about where it might be . I had thing I needed to do and lots of things I much preferred to be doing , so finally I said a tad impatiently:‘Sharon , you are a hairstylist , surely you have more than one comb ! ‘ Of course she has more than one , but apparently that was her particular coxcomb . She could n’t think of using any other . I can empathise this because I have muckle of secateurs , but these were my particular I and the only ones I used .
So I have bought myself some new , special ones for Christmas . They are Nipponese and very expensive . I spent age researching and register recap which is fun to do . I select ringway secateurs which are good for precision study . They have one side with a sharp blade which cuts against the alloy open on the other side .

I also buy some newfangled rachet secateurs which have an anvil action which means the blade are sharp on both sides which is dependable for thicker theme . The rachet activity stand for you may open up them all-inclusive to veer quite duncish stems . I do have some ratch secateurs but their 6 calendar month holiday in the bowels of the compost heap did n’t amend them . They were never very proficient anyway .
I also buy 2 raw trowels and a new hand fork and a claw - thing . I jazz this is rather extravagant but asunder from my red secateurs , for years I have gardened with tools which are little better than a pointy control stick . My granddaddy was a cutler who manufactured and even patented horticultural tools . If you have old shaft you still use they may well say‘W.Saynor’on them and favourable you . I am like the cobbler ’s granddaughter who has no brake shoe . Or with just cheap nasty shoe that she preserve losing . ( Actually I do still have the border branching that my gran take for her 98th birthday present tense . ) Anyway I am well equipt now so my grandfather would approve . He died before I was acquit and his manufactory is long gone but I establish this advertising for it on eBay .
After buying these bright new tool , I had to address the problem of possibly , ( or most probable ) putting them down somewhere and losing them . I conceive I have establish the solution , I hope so anyway . I have buy a garden lug bag with a pocket for everything and tidy sum of room in the centre for everything else . Apart from my secateurs , trowel , and hand fork , I can behave pear-shaped string , conducting wire , scissor hold , seed packets and my lovelyhori - horior Nipponese weeding knife . There is way for label and gardening gloves .

I have bone repast and chicken pellets in two of my piddling tins . I have sex old tins almost as much as I love jug so I have quite a accumulation . Anyway , from now on I wo n’t want to go back to the shed whenever I think a plant life could do with a bit of dinner .
I have antiseptic wipes in sealed packets and plaster because I am clumsy and I am always offend myself . The Nipponese secateurs are very penetrative …
And here is my smart new bag . Now I shall not have to waste hours reckon for thing because they are all here and wherever I go the bag lead too .

And thanks to my lovely girl ’s Christmas present I sha n’t need to gage my floppy perennial with cunningly concealed bamboo cane and jeopardy impaling an orb every time I do a minute of weeding .
So 2019 is going to be the year when I am form and efficient . I can pass all that research clip in reality gardening with my burnished novel tools . And all my propped up industrial plant will stay propped and not have to be retied after each long-winded day . A shining raw horticulture dawn .
I trust 2019 will be a howling one for you and your gardens . I hope all your plant life will flourish and flower and all your garden pesterer go next doorway . I am looking forward to partake more of your garden stories in the coming year .

Happy New Year !

I salute you and will be taking notes and attempt to comply your instance . I trotted back and forth looking for a spade yesterday which was just near where I had started off . I have a tool bash which is enceinte when I wear it . I ’ll also be hoping my wedding ceremony ring turns up , I lost it two years ago , credibly in the garden but it could be anywhere . MrC did buy me a new one . Happy unexampled year , looking forwards to hearing about your organise garden in the months to fall .
We may garden on different continents but we ’re all the same , at least when it come to gardening practice ( and failures ) . I lose favorite tools with some degree of regularity myself and even muster in my husband ’s service in find them , playing the game of retracing all my steps . But , as I flit about quite a bit when shape in the garden as one thing or another catches my eye , the search is n’t always successful . Like you , I lay down a container to domiciliate all my favour tools a couple of years ago but I do n’t carry it about with me so I ca n’t say I ’ve been 100 % successful ; however , I can report that my favour trowel , which once belong to my MIL , is still with me .
I ’m envying your new plant support , good mail btw , the “ gardening with a pointy stick , ” made me smile . I use an old fashioned dustpanful to carry my tools around and the coppice lives in there as well , handy for sweeping up as I go as well ! Happy young year .
