Today we ’ll unravel through some more fast book reviews from the 2022 reading tilt .
Less: A Visual Guide to Minimalismby Rachel Aust
A modest , graphically interesting book with some quick ideas for simplifying your life .
Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Lifeby Joshua Fields Milburn and Ryan Nicodemus
More of an inspirational pair of autobiography than a treatise on Minimalism . One good decimal point I liked : Do n’t ask what someone does for a living . postulate what he loves doing , as it ’s a better measure of the individual . Of of course , ultimate meaning does n’t get from simplifying your life or even have peachy kinship – it comes from turn yourself over dead body and someone to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . However , Ryan and Joshua do have some good practical ideas .
De Agriculturaby Cato
A fascinating book of agricultural advice during the Roman Republic , written by the superb Cato . This Christian Bible prompt me yet again how much I care I had studied Latin hard in high school . I need to instruct it properly so I can read classic texts in the original voice communication instead of being stick with translation .
Don’t Stop the Carnivalby Herman Wouk
This is the most precise look at life in the Caribbean I have ever discover . It ’s really spot - on . The chief character is a neurotic , amoral Judaic man with issues , but if you could get past his rather unsavoury life-time , the travails he undergoes while trying to reinvent himself as a holiday resort owner in the Caribbean are so true - to - living if you ’ve experience there that it give me flashbacks . Very comic story as well , with tragedy conflate in .
The Art of Fermentationby Sandor Katz
The most in - depth guide to ferment methods ever created . It is a treasure trove of useful information , despite Katz ’ sometimes solipsistic wandering . A must - have for anyone concerned in lively polish intellectual nourishment .
Tom Jonesby Henry Fielding
extremely amusing novel with some very memorable scene . really an excellent story , with some laugh - out - brassy moments .
Coppice Agrofrestryby Mark Krawczyk
Despite the SJW - style apology at the beginning for calling hoi polloi who work in the woodwind instrument “ woodman , ” the book has some fascinating approximation and cover a capital deal of story and drill . An excellent resourcefulness with only a touch of cringe .
