Here ’s the late update in my garden as of Sunday October 18th . The season is winding down fast now , and so am I. The pics above are what we harvested today .
Some lovesome time of year crops like cucumbers , summertime squash racquets , green beans , dry noodle , butternut wintertime squash and corn are finish . Today ’s harvest time of the warm time of year crop like tomatoes and peppers were blame , include some green love apple which I will mature indoors . I got a distich of butternut squash and cucumbers too . I turned off the drip systems to all of them today .
The perennial fruit harvest - strawberries , grapes , rhubarb and blackberry bush are also done . But the raspberries , which are a fall craw are still give up some Berry but are slow way down now too . I will will the dripping system on the perennials till it freezes .

Other cool season crop in the garden are still shine , loving the nerveless weather we have right now . These include cabbage , chard , another winter squash ( sweetmeat ) and lolly are still in the main garden and quick to harvest . I ’ve been harvest the kale , cultivated cabbage and chard for a long time .
I am harvest broccoli heads , warm season lettuces and radishes that I implant as succession crops in August in my garlic bed which has been vacant since July . I figured I would have enough time to harvest them before I plant a raw garlic harvest back in it . The garlic heads are coming this hebdomad and I will plant them by the final stage of October in that bottom once the other veg are harvest .
But the time of year does n’t end yet . I presently have some cool season crops that I started at bottom under lights like lettuces , spinach , arugula and Pak Choi . They will go into my cold frame and nursery this calendar week but not in the main garden . I ’ve really been waiting till both the nursery and cold soma are cool enough in the mean solar day to put them in so they do n’t bolt and this week with the daytime temperatures in the 70 ’s and the nighttime temperature in the 40s is now perfect to put them out . They should last till December using row cover when the temperature sink to freezing at night to extend their lives . It will be skillful to get greens and lettuce from the garden in November . My last hooray !
