Thanks for stick with me and dealing with the new site as I work the germ out . For the last two weeks , I ’ve delved further into SEO , html , WordPress , cud - Immigration and Naturalization Service and techie stuff than I ’ve ever done before .
I ’ve also just completed go through all my old posts and re - writing them , add together new links , video , etc .
I now realize after reading up on SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) that I made some fault starting out back on Florida Survival Gardening . If you are on WordPress , go download Yoast and see how to utilize their tool . They provide good info for freeon their web site .
So now .. here ’s my short post on what I ’m learning about SEO .
SEO for Non-Techies, i.e. Survival Gardeners
If you title a post “ This is Amazing ! ” and then show a picture of a Snake River dance with no caption , search engines wo n’t easily discover your “ astonishing ” post on the dance snake .
Instead , if you want people to find your place when they research for “ saltation serpent , ” on Google , you need to title your military post something related to the content .
You could call the post “ check up on Out This Dancing Snake ! ” and it will get found . Your probability go higher if the picture of the saltation Snake River is entitle something like dancing_snake.jpg with an alternate ticket on the photo that say “ photo of a terpsichore ophidian ” and a caption that say “ Dancing Snake ! ”
SEO for Non-Techies
Many of my older mail were also too short to rank high on SEO . If you only have a brace of line of products on a blog post , it wo n’t rank well . In demarcation , if I publish an article with at least 300 wrangle and well - label photo and dependable sub - header , it would get picked up higher .
This stuff is crazy but I ’m finally pulling it together . I would get it on to have more mass stop by and see my writing … so I went back through all 900 C. W. Post and fixed the SEO on the ones I could .
