SixOnSaturday

You ’ll be glad to acknowledge I survived the icy wastefulness of South Oxfordshire last weekend . It was pretty parky but also bright and gay so it was in reality rather nice to be out in ( with desirable bed , hats , glove and so on ) . I am out in the Chilterns once more this weekend so will commune with nature in a non - gardening mode , grapple with mile and miles of gloopy mud . If that does n’t result in a serious nap , I will get some more rose pruning done , and mayhap cut back a few clematis while I ’m at it . while I ’m sodomize about doing that , it ’s time for Six on Saturday . Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything , you decide . conjoin in !

Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Your basic Anemone quinquefolia . I bought 100 very dried up bulb for a pittance a couple of years ago . There are about 4 left , it seems . I should get some more , perhaps in the greens , and plant them in the borderline . These are extremely likely to get stood on in the lawn .

I principally do n’t see the fuss about snowdrop …

2 – Breaking news . Among the result of my recent pruning , this new roseate increase is breaking from the horizontal shank of r. ‘ The Pilgrim ’ . It should hold flowers later in the year .

3 – First daffodil . Just a basic daff , among the first I implant years ago . A novice at the time , I planted them one by one and at sporadic interval around the garden . They look rather lose as a answer , but as a harbinger of spring , I ’ll take it .

4 – Wisteria buds . They are n’t doing much yet , but I could convince myself that they are tumesce a little . Three short moonths and it will be in bloom .

5 – Euphorbia amygdaloides ‘ purpurea ’ . Rather uninspiring at the moment , this should bush out quite a number , perhaps to 75 centimetre , and should spread by runners to give good reason cover . well-chosen in partial or even full shadiness , it will bring forth brilliant lime greenish blossom that will be contrasted with the purplish tinged leafage .

6 – Chilli seeds , in conclusion sow . I ’m taking a jeopardy here , at the time of penning I have n’t actually sow them . If a picture of sown seeds seem here it is because I have shamed myself into finally sowing them at some level on Friday evening , about 6 weeks behind my preferred schedule . If no such picture seem then I have let you down , let the family down , and worst of all permit myself down .

Have a groovy weekend , maybe get some gardening done , and do n’t forget to pop back as more connection get added during the twenty-four hours .

remain safe , I ’ll be back next weekend for another # SixOnSaturday .
