prison term for another Six on Saturday ! Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything ; a good blossom , tremendous leafage , a line of work to do , a Book of Job completed , plans afoot , something sow . Anything at all -join in !
We are visit friend and family in Dubai , where it is still hot hot red-hot , mid XXX ( 90s in former money ) . Both families have garden and at first glance it does n’t attend like much is go on garden - Isaac Mayer Wise . The plant life are all skulk round the boundary in a foot wide cartoon strip of arenaceous soil , trained against the stucco wall that mark the boundary in both plots .

On close review , however , there are some interesting plants and some very pretty flowers .
The varieties were a bit of a mystery in many cases . Some sleuthhound employment has been done with the help of a plant i d app and the people of twitter . If I put forward a variety I ’m reasonably convinced , but felicitous to be define square .
It has been a line of work to strain them down to just six , but here they are .

1 ) A cactus , variety not - a - scooby - doo . I can in person vouch for this chap ’s spikiness . As I was tidy him up for this photo , removing a few dead , skewered leaves , he stabbed me . Several times !
2 ) Bougainvillea spectabilis . Ubiquitous rhythm these region , and a good matter all round . Commonly find as a street tree , or in front garden . try by our abbreviated sojourn it flowers extravagantly and in shocking pink . Strictly speaking the flowers are really the little livid affair in the centre , the pinkness is modify leaves or bract .
3 . Nerium oleander . Common as gunk round here , often used in municipal planting in parks and by the wayside for its enduringness . I sha n’t comment on what this says about our server garden ! Pretty flowers .

4 . Plumaria rubra , frangipani . to begin with from primal and south america it is now a common garden plant across tropical and sub tropical geographical zone worldwide . It grows quite large if provide , 7 - 8 m tall and across .
5 . Cordia sebestena . This one took a bit of identifying and once again the people of Twitter came to the rescue . Several IDd this works as a genus Cordia . I took a bit of sway as many of the pictures and description did n’t seem to match but we did eventually ascertain a close match salmagundi so cordia sebestena it is . The flowers are little , perhaps 2 cm across , but the shrub is great , this one is about 2 m mellow but if left can get much bigger , 8 - 10 m. It is widely set in the tropical zone , I cite from its Wikipedia page “ It is implant in dealings medians and parking wad , and is a useful seaboard subject ” . Just sayin ’ … .
6 . Portulaca oleracea , or common purslane . get hold across north africa , the middle east and in southern europe , it is lowish ontogenesis , with thickheaded succulent style leaves . The flowers are quite little , perhaps 2 cm across , bright orange in this lawsuit .
